EVERY DRIVE IS A LAP
Your commute
is a race.
Racer times the trips you already take. Pick where you're going, get the familiar route and ETA, then race a ghost: the Map's predicted pace, your own best run, or a friend's recorded drive. Asynchronous, so they drove Tuesday, you drive Friday, and the clock decides.
THREE GHOSTS TO CHASE
THE MAP
The Map says 15 minutes? A ghost leaves when you do and drives exactly that pace. Beat it with a better route and no wasted stops. Not with speed.
YOUR BEST
Your fastest legal run on a route becomes the ghost. Every destination you visit keeps a record, a scoreboard, and the actual line you drove.
A RIVAL
Challenge links carry a friend's real GPS run. Their ghost drives their actual line at their actual pace while you chase it, whenever you want.
YOUR CAR, YOUR AVATAR
A real 3D car you build in the garage: paint, finish, stripes, aero, underglow. Or a model generated from a photo of any car. It's what rivals see on their map.
Only legal runs count.
Racer is a timing game for the drives you already make. It is designed so it cannot be won by breaking the law: a run that could only have been driven illegally is voided. It stays in your history, but it is not a record, it never uploads, it never ranks, and it never beats a rival.
- 85 mphSustained speed above the highest posted limit in the country voids the run outright.
- ETA floorThe Map's estimate already assumes legal speeds and live traffic. Beat it by more than 30 % on a real drive and the run is voided as physically impossible within the law.
- Hands offSearch and settings lock once the car is moving. Pick the destination, put the phone down, drive normally. Racer finishes the run at the destination by itself.
Racing here means beating estimates and personal bests through route choice and not losing time, never through speed. Read the full rules of the road.
WHY IT WORKS
Sign-ups required. An anonymous account is created on install; add Sign in with Apple only if you want your records to follow you to a new phone.
Challenge links expire after thirty days. Your GPS trail is only ever shared with people you hand a code to, never on a public page.
Delete your account and every byte we hold from inside the app. No email, no waiting, no “are you sure” loop. See the privacy policy.
